Upload exceeds….

Sometimes when you upload a theme.zip file, you get an error message that the size exceeds the limit set in your php.ini file.  The default upload file size for WordPress is 2 mb.  There are 2 solutions to this problem…

  1. modify your php.ini file (you might need administrator rights / ftp access to your web server) with this settings:
    find this line in the php.ini file “upload_max_filesize = 2M” and replace it with a higher value (e.g. “upload_max_filesize = 64M”)
You may also want to increase your max post size.
Look for this line in your php.ini file “post_max_size” and increase it as well.
  2. create or modify the .htaccess file on your root directory with this code:
    php_value upload_max_filesize 50M
    php_value post_max_size 50M
    php_value max_execution_time 500
    php_value max_input_time 500

Hope this helps.
